Gaudeamus Igitur

Gaudeamus Igitur, juvenes dum sumus, Vivat Academis, vivant Professores
Gaudeamus Igitur, juvenes dum sumus, Vivat Academis, vivant Professores,
Post jucundem juventutem, Vivat membrum quodilbet,
post molestam senectutem vivant membra quaelibet,
Nos habebit humus, nos habebit humus. Semper sint in flore, semper sint in flore!

Let us rejoice, therefore, while we are young, Long live the academy! Long live the professors!
Let us rejoice, therefore, while we are young, Long live the academy! Long live the professors!
After a pleasant youth, Long live each student!
After a troubling old age, Long live the whole fraternity!
The earth will have us, the earth will have us. For ever may they flourish! for ever may they flourish!

Alhamdulillah, this day has finally come!
First of all, the completion of my master study would not have been possible without the blessing of The Almighty God, Allah, and the endless support from my big family in Lamongan, Indonesia. I am nothing without my parents.

I wish to express my sincere thanks to Dr Melanie Selfe, the program convenor of MSc in Creative Industry & Cultural Policy, University of Glasgow, and all of the program’s lecturers who always provided me with a helpful place to study. Special thanks to my supervisor, Dr Lynn Whitaker, for providing me with an unceasing encouragement and confidence.

I also thank Indonesian Endowment Fund for Education (LPDP) who supported me with the government funding to realise my master program abroad, the Indonesian Creative Economy Agency (BEKRAF) and Indonesian delegates of Start-up World Cup 2017 and Start-up World Competition in Istanbul 2016 who supported me to conduct the interview and for answering my research’s questions.

I take this opportunity to record my sincere thanks to all my classmates, Indonesian Student Association of Greater Glasgow (PPI), Indonesian Muslim Community (KIBAR), and Glasgow University Moslem Student Association (GUMSA) for their unceasing encouragement. Finally, I also place on record, my sense of gratitude to one and all who, directly or indirectly, have lent their helping hand in this assignment.
